Home Leadership

Growing comes from accepting the decisions you make. Good or bad, every decision has a consequence. To grow, accept responsibility for your life. Don’t blame others when things go wrong, and take the credit when things are right. Instead, be honest with yourself, learn from your mistakes, and appreciate those that have helped you get closer to your goals.

How have you handled decisions that have led to bad outcomes? What did you learn from that experience?

Flawsome is a term which describes an individual who embraces their “flaws” and knows they are awesome regardless. It’s meant to encourage confidence and acceptance in individuals. In a world that is trying to keep up with the Kardashians, it’s refreshing to take a different stance in life. Try instead to keep up with being yourself. Focus on your personality, what makes you awesome and share that with the world.

Here are three steps you can take today to become flawsome.

  1. Mirror mirror on the wall:  Look at yourself and find gratitude for what you see. Yes, you can wear make-up to highlight your features. Yes, you can diet to become healthier.  However, regardless of where you start and where you finish, feeling gratitude for yourself has to be constant every step of the way.
  2. Haters gonna hate: That’s right.  You can rest assure that someone in your life has something negative to say.  These are the people that will find something wrong no matter what. Often, these individuals are unhappy with themselves, so they spend time trying to bring others down to feel better about themselves. If their opinions are not constructive, and there to help you; instead they are hurtful, then let their feedback roll off your shoulder.  Don’t invest in arguing with them and don’t let their negativity get you down. Instead, move forward with your head held high. Limit the time you spend with them, if possible.
  3. Mission complete: Flawsome is achieved when you work hard to accomplish your mission in life. However, you can’t achieve anything without failure. Therefore, embrace your failures, and allow those moment to teach you a lesson.  Get back up and try again. Continue until you are satisfied with what you have accomplished.

You see part of being “Flawsome” is also understanding that there are two sides to everything. Benefits and drawbacks.  All is meant to guide you into becoming your best self.

1 Corinthians 3:8 says ” Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” There are times in life when we are asked to plant or water a seed, for ourselves or someone else. The reward will be given according to the effort we put in. Therefore, when you work hard for yourself or for someone else, you will be rewarded either way. So every chance you get to help someone, do it. Every time you can do something for yourself, do it. Do it with love, dedication, and with gratitude. God will provide the increase. It may not happen immediately, so be patient, but have faith that growth will happen.
